Family Christmas Holiday

Arrive at Oulu Airport or bus/railway station, where your guide is waiting for you. Approximately two hours transport to Syöte and Taigalampi cabin or KIDE Hotel. Meeting the group and accommodation.

​Welcoming dinner, short briefing, introduction of Syöte National Park, and the program after dinner. Safety issues and discussion about sustainable tourism and how we put it into practice during our trip. Warm sauna and sweet dreams surrounded by peaceful and quiet nature.

Activities begin after a complete Finnish breakfast with many local delicacies. Dressing up for the day outside of the cabin, in pure white nature.

A short snowshoeing trip to the snowy hills, during the trip you hear basic knowledge about Finland, and old Christmas traditions. Lunch after the trip.

In the afternoon making of Christmas cookies and traditional Star-pastries together.

Dinner from the buffet, sauna, and accommodation in your room. Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice.

After breakfast, it is time to explore Finnish nature and its special features with your local guide by foot or snowshoes, if needed. Transport to the Syöte National Park gate.

​Hiking to the Teerivaara wilderness hut enjoying the beautiful nature and nice views. The trail goes on varied terrain, on snowy forest paths. After the hiking tasty soup is served outside the Visitor Centre by open fire.

​Transport back to the accommodation. In the evening dinner and sauna. Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice.

​Day's distance is approximately 4 kilometers hiking/snowshoeing.

Soon after a refreshing and tasty breakfast, we take wide and short, skin based backcountry skis and start skiing trip to the lake ice and on the hills! Lovely picnic lunch outside on the trip.

​After the outdoor lunch, skiing back to the accommodation.

​Meet Santa Claus who brings the presents for the guests gathered around the beautifully decorated Christmas tree! Christmas dinner together, hot sauna, relaxing in the evening.

Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice. 

Day's distance is approximately 4 km with skin-based skis. 

After a tasty breakfast transport to the husky farm to meet the huskies. Safety instructions, driving lesson and nice tour with friendly huskies. Pure fun and joy!

Transport back to the accommodation, lunch. Sauna, dinner in the evening. Maybe it’s possible to see and photograph the magnificent Northern Lights!

​The day's distance is maximum 15 km in 3 hours, depending on the snow conditions.

After nice breakfast a rest day, or day with optional activities: 1. self guided cross-country skiing trip, 2. self guided snowshoeing trip, 3. snowmobile tour, 4. downhill skiing day in Iso-Syöte fell.

​Self-made picnic lunch. 

Transport back to the accommodation from the activities (if needed). In the evening fairwell dinner and sauna . Optional Northern Lights trip to the hill or the lake ice. 

After a nice and nutritious breakfast transfer to Oulu Airport or bus/railway station.
